Backstage Update - Jerry Lawler’s WWE return?

At this time, Jerry Lawler is recovering from a heart attack in a Montreal hospital. The heart attack happened last Monday while WWE Monday Night RAW was on the air.

Many have wondered if Lawler’s announcing job was in jeopardy, but word is that Vince McMahon reportedly told Lawler to take as much time as he needs to get healthy and his announcing job is waiting for him as soon as he’s ready to return.

While doctors have told Lawler that he can return to the ring once he is recovered, the feeling is that WWE is against him wrestling for them in the future.

Dolph Ziggler to cash in tonight, NOC announce team

- WWE’s creative team has been seriously discussing having Dolph Ziggler cash in his Money in the Bank shot at Night of Champions tonight. Management believes that Ziggler is on the verge of breaking into the main event spot.

- According to sources, WWE has reached an agreement with JBL to work the commentary booth for both Night of Champions and RAW. The report says that this could end up being for more than the two shows, though JBL has been planning to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa later this month.

Jim Ross is also reportedly in Boston tonight and could be at Night of Champions.

John Cena is set to debut his latest “theme color” at Night of Champions tonight. Cena will be going pink for breast cancer awareness and will wear the new color scheme throughout October; it includes a pink “Rise Above Cancer” cap and a black t-shirt with a new pink logo reading the same.
“WWE and John Cena have such a large female fan base, so it’s important for us to support the people who have supported us for so long,” Triple H told the Boston Herald.
Cena said, “One of the reasons I really wanted to do something with Susan G. Komen is because of my brother (who is battling brain cancer). Early detection saved his life.”
